Doing Business in Latvia 2019

The aim of this publication is to provide the essential background information on setting up and running a business in Latvia, in compliance with legislation in force as at 1 April 2019. It is of use to anyone who is thinking of establishing a business in Latvia as a separate entity, as a branch of a foreign company or as a subsidiary of an existing foreign company. It also covers the essential background tax information for individuals considering coming to work or live permanently in Latvia.

This publication describes the business environment in Latvia and covers the most common forms of business entity and the taxation aspects of running or working for such a business. For individual taxpayers, the important taxes to which individuals are likely to be subject are dealt with in some detail. The most important issues are included, but it is not feasible to discuss every subject in comprehensive detail within this format.
